What is a VPS?
VPS stands for Virtual Private Server. A VPS is like your own personal computer, that’s based in a UK data centre.
You pay to rent a portion of a high-specced, state-of-the-art data centre server, which you are free to use in the same way as you might use your own PC. The biggest difference is that these computers are always on and plugged-in to a 10 Gigabit per second internet connection, so they’re perfect for hosting websites.

How is a VPS different to web hosting?
You aren’t restricted to using the server space just for websites, as is the case with our shared web hosting. A common use is for multiplayer gaming: to either host an ‘instance’ of a game world or for team communication within a game.
